Bascule Span
View of an iron worker, constructing the second drawbridge section. The construction of the inner loop bascule is different from the first bridge where most of the assembly occurred in Florida. This time the contractor is setting and constructing the grid span over the Potomac River. This work is part of the Bascule Span contract which began in early 2003 and will be completed in mid-2008.
