<p>Cruise ship coming through the Project area. The cruise ship was heading into Alexandria, VA. The opening is required due to the 50 foot clearance. The new bridge will have a 70-foot clearance, which enable this vessel to pass beneath without an opening. The first new six-lane bridge will open in 2006.</p>
