Maryland Approach Spans
View looking southwest at the setting of structural steel for the inner loop bridge. Notice the two cranes working in unison to set the structural steel piece. The steel was manufactured in Pennsylvania and trucked down on-site, assembled on a barge and barged out to the site from the Maryland shoreline. This work is part of the Maryland Approach Contract which began in mid-2003 and will be completed by the end of 2008.
