Motorists Urged to Avoid Area and Choose Alternate Routes As part of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project, weather permitting, crews will temporarily close lanes and associated ramps daily the week of January 4 throughout the Telegraph Road corridor of the Capital Beltway I-95/495 to complete emergency pothole repairs caused by recent inclement weather. Crews will start daytime repairs on the Capital Beltway Outer Loop (I-95/495 North) and as the week progresses, will move to the Inner Loop (I-95/495 South), onto the Telegraph Road ramps to/from the Beltway, and will end with repairs to Telegraph Road. Lane closures will begin at 9 a.m. each morning and reopen by 3 p.m. to avoid rush hour traffic. One lane will be closed at a time for this daytime work, and ramp closures will be limited to 20 minutes while repairs are completed. This daytime work is in addition to already-scheduled overnight pothole repairs the week of January 4, with additional crews completing the daytime repairs. Overnight repairs occur only on bridges, whereas daytime work will involve roadways. Motorists should expect back-ups and consider alternate routes to avoid delays. Please use caution when traveling in this area. All construction-related work and dates are subject to change, depending on weather, material and contractor availability or other unforeseen conditions.
