Telegraph Road and Capital Beltway (I-95/495) Closures

Week of July 18

Motorists Urged to Use Alternate Routes

During the week of July 18 construction activities will require ramp and lane closures on the Capital Beltway Inner Loop (I-95/495 South), the Eisenhower Connector, and on Telegraph Road as part of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project.

Pile driving along the northern border of the Telegraph Road interchange on Tuesday, July 20, will require the closure of two ramps on the Inner Loop. From Tuesday, July 20 through Friday, July 23, cleanup work will require the closure of portions of the Eisenhower Connector and related ramps. Bike and pedestrian access will be maintained during this Eisenhower Connector activity.

Additionally, crews will continue to install protective shielding below the bridge over the CSX/Metro train tracks and Mill Road throughout this week, requiring periodic, full Telegraph Road North closures. Due to time restrictions required by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), the portion of the work over the tracks can only occur between the hours of 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. Noise impacts are expected to be low, but local residents may hear the hum of generators and other machinery while the shielding is being installed.

The detailed lane/ramp closures and corresponding detours are found below:
