UPDATE: Capital Beltway Telegraph Road Area Closures

August 27-28

Motorists Urged to Use Alternate Routes

Milling and paving activities along the Inner Loop at Telegraph Road, originally announced on August 20, has been modified. Starting at 9 p.m. Friday, August 27, construction crews will close the ramp from the Inner Loop (I-95/495 South) to Telegraph Road North, and begin taking lanes on Telegraph Road North between Huntington Avenue and Pershing Avenue. All lanes on Telegraph Road North will be closed as of 10 p.m. Friday, Aug.. 27. Pershing Avenue West will remain open and will be used as a temporary detour route.

At approximately 7 a.m., Saturday Aug. 28, crews will open the leftmost lane on Telegraph Road North and the ramp from the Inner Loop to Telegraph Road North. All work is expected to be complete by 5 p.m., Saturday Aug. 28, at which time all lanes on Telegraph Road will be restored.

Travelers taking Telegraph Road North to Duke Street can take the temporary detour to the ramp from Telegraph Road North to Eisenhower Avenue, continue straight onto Stovall Street, make a left onto Pershing Avenue, and turn right onto Telegraph Road North.

Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes to their destinations to avoid delays. Please use caution when traveling in this area. All construction-related work and dates are subject to change, depending on weather, material and contractor availability or other unforeseen conditions.
