Weather permitting, the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project will be conducting significant Capital Beltway and Telegraph Road Interchange closures November 11-15.  Variable message signs will be posted to alert drivers and provide detour information when necessary.  This work will have major impacts on Beltway and local traffic, and motorists are strongly advised to seek alternate routes to avoid delays. The scheduled work is as follows.

CAPITAL BELTWAY CLOSURES

Friday, Nov. 11 at 9 p.m. through Sunday, Nov. 13 at 10 p.m. CONTINUOUSLY:

• The Capital Beltway Inner Loop (I-95/495 South) LOCAL lanes will be narrowed to one lane (alternating lanes) between the U.S. Route 1 interchange and Telegraph Road for repair work.  This will leave only one LOCAL lane open at all times.  Motorists are strongly encouraged to use the THRU lanes in this corridor, as significant back-ups are expected on the LOCAL lanes.

• The on-ramps from U.S. Route 1 North and South to the Inner Loop LOCAL lanes also will be closed during this time.  Motorists should use the on-ramps to the THRU lanes. Motorists headed to Duke Street or the Eisenhower Valley should take U.S. Route 1 to Duke Street.

Monday, Nov. 14 OVERNIGHT from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning:

• The right lane of the Capital Beltway Outer Loop (I-95/495 North) will be closed between the Eisenhower Avenue Connector and Telegraph Road to hang an overhead sign.  All lanes will be closed for 15 minutes just after midnight, and traffic will be fully stopped for this short window.

Tuesday, Nov. 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.: 

• The left lane of the Capital Beltway Inner Loop (I-95/495 South) will be closed from Telegraph Road to Eisenhower Avenue Connector.

TELEGRAPH ROAD INTERCHANGE CLOSURES

Saturday, Nov. 12 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

• The on-ramp from Telegraph Road South to the Capital Beltway Outer Loop (I-95/495 North) will be closed for roadway construction.  
  o Detour: Motorists should take the ramp to Huntington Avenue East to U.S. Route 1 North to the on-ramp to the Outer Loop.

• The on-ramp from Telegraph Road North to the Capital Beltway Outer Loop (I-95/495 North) will be closed for roadway construction.  
  o Detour: Motorists should continue to Duke Street East to U.S. Route 1 South to the on-ramp to the Outer Loop.

Monday, Nov. 14 and Thursday, Nov. 17 DAILY from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Friday, Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.:

• The exit ramp from the Capital Beltway Outer Loop (I-95/495 North) to Huntington Avenue will be closed for roadway construction. 
  o Detour:  Motorists should take the exit ramp to N. Kings Highway East to U.S. Route 1 North to Huntington Avenue.

     o Alternate detour: Motorists can stay on the Outer Loop to U.S. Route 1 South to right on Huntington Avenue.
